A Random Act of Kindness

June 4, 2025 / by Teresa / Leave a Comment

Yesterday, I went to my favorite dirt road to go for a walk.  Before I got out of the car, a FedEx truck sped by, leaving a huge cloud of dust. I saw the driver pull over to the side of the road and jump out of the truck, leaving his door wide open.  He walked very quickly towards a little creature in the road.  First he took a few pictures of it and then gently scooped it up and carried it over to the edge of the pond. I watched him walk around to the other side of his truck and could tell that saving the turtle made him feel good inside, because he walked with a spring in his step.

At that moment, my heart opened and my soul was lifted because this man pushed pause on his delivery schedule to rescue a baby turtle.  His actions renewed my faith in humans.  I needed to see this random act of kindness, in the midst of all the insanity in the world.  It was a very good sign, indeed!
